Flux serves as the cryptocurrency that drives the Flux ecosystem, offering a range of functionalities such as acquiring resources, backing nodes as collateral, and facilitating transactions on FluxOS. Additionally, it serves as a means to reward both miners and FluxNode operators for contributing computational resources. The Flux ecosystem is dedicated to enabling everyone to participate in the development, deployment, and utilization of the decentralized Internet of the future, often referred to as Web3. As of the current moment, the Flux ecosystem comprises several components: a native, minable Proof-of-Work (POW) cryptocurrency ($FLUX), a robust decentralized computational network (FluxNodes), a Linux-based operating system (FluxOS), a leading digital asset platform (Zelcore), and the Flux blockchain for on-chain governance, economic activities, and parallel assets to ensure interoperability with other blockchains and access to decentralized finance (DeFi) services. As of January 2023, the Flux computational network boasts approximately 15,000 decentralized nodes distributed globally, equipped with over 108,000 CPU cores, 288 terabytes of RAM, and 6.7 petabytes of storage. This positions Flux as the largest decentralized network globally.
