StarkNet is a decentralized Validity-Rollup, also recognized as a "ZK-Rollup," operating in a permissionless manner. Functioning as an L2 network built atop Ethereum, StarkNet empowers any decentralized application (dApp) to achieve expansive computational scale without jeopardizing the composability and security of Ethereum. This achievement is made possible by StarkNet's utilization of STARK, the most secure and scalable cryptographic proof system available. StarkNet Contracts and the StarkNet Operating System are scripted in Cairo, a language designed to support the deployment and scaling of diverse use cases, irrespective of their underlying business logic.
