Constitution DAO, an experimental endeavor, has ceased its operations. Originating in November 2021, a collective of web3 enthusiasts formed a decentralized autonomous organization with the goal of acquiring a copy of the U.S. Constitution at a Sotheby’s Auction. Given the rarity of original physical copies—only 13 in existence—the auction incited intense bidding. Despite amassing over $40 million in ETH, the group was ultimately outbid by Ken Griffin, a billionaire hedge fund manager and Citadel's CEO. Following this setback, Constitution DAO declared its dissolution, acknowledging the unsuccessful grassroots effort to obtain one of the nation's most prized historical documents. All contributions are being refunded.
