Syscoin was conceived in 2014 by Sebastian Schepis, a co-founder of the firm behind the Oracle Project Manager, an enterprise management system. After the success of Project Manager, Sebastian provided consultancy services for prominent corporations such as Lockheed-Martin, Bank of America, General Dynamics, Verizon Wireless, among others. Presently, Syscoin operates as an open-source initiative overseen by the non-profit Syscoin Foundation. Key figures on the foundation's board include Jagdeep Sidhu, serving as Foundation President and Lead Developer, and Michiel Näring, holding the position of Syscoin Foundation Vice President. Under the stewardship of SYS Labs, an enterprise entity, the development of flagship applications and systems leveraging Syscoin technology is spearheaded. Notable projects include Rollux (OPStack L2), SuperDapp, Pegasys DAO (DEX), and Luxy (NFT marketplace).
