Idex presents itself as the inaugural hybrid liquidity DEX, seamlessly integrating an order book model with an automated market maker (AMM). This fusion combines the performance and functionalities of a traditional order book model with the security and liquidity provided by an AMM. By employing an innovative approach to decentralized exchanges, Idex merges an off-chain trading engine with on-chain trade settlement, offering users several advantages. Firstly, this method eradicates failed trades and eliminates unnecessary expenditure on gas fees, thereby enhancing the trading experience in terms of efficiency and user satisfaction. Instant trade execution safeguards against front-running or sandwich attacks, enabling users to trade without delays caused by pending settlements. Consequently, users can execute more advanced order types and trading strategies, including limit orders, which present opportunities for arbitrage with other exchanges. Idex maps out an ambitious roadmap envisioning a multi-chain future for the exchange, currently operational on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain. For the remainder of 2021, it plans to expand to second-layer solutions and Polkadot while implementing a referral program. Looking ahead, Idex aims to introduce leverage trading and extend its presence to additional layer one and layer two blockchains.
