Core (CORE) is constructed as an L1 blockchain compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enabling it to execute Ethereum smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps). The Core network operates on the Satoshi Plus consensus mechanism, which ensures network security through a blend of delegated Bitcoin mining hash and delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS). At its foundation is the native token, CORE. The project developers aim to establish an infrastructure that forms the backbone of web 3.0, introducing innovative concepts to address the blockchain trilemma. The mainnet was unveiled in January 2023, with the blockchain governed by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Within this framework, the Core DAO oversees the development of the Satoshi Plus ecosystem.
