RenderToken (RNDR) is a decentralized GPU rendering network established on the Ethereum blockchain, with the objective of linking artists and studios seeking GPU computational power with mining partners willing to lease out their GPU capabilities. Initially conceptualized in 2009 by OTOY, Inc. CEO Jules Urbach, RNDR was officially introduced in 2017. Its inaugural public token sale took place in October of the same year, following a private sale phase spanning from January 2018 to May 2018. During this period, a total of 117,843,239 RNDR tokens were sold at a rate of 1 RNDR = $0.25 USD. Early adopters were granted access to the RNDR Beta Testnet, where beta node operators and artists collaborated with the RNDR team to develop and evaluate the network. RNDR was subsequently launched to the public on April 27th, 2020.
